Hiring an IT support technician in Offaly

IT support covers both kinds of work: much of it, such as email, accounts, software and security checks, can be done remotely, while hardware, Wi-Fi and networks usually need a visit to the home or office. Say which you would prefer when you post the task.

Whoever does the work will often need your passwords or remote access to your devices. Give them only to the person you chose, watch while they work, and change any password you shared once the job is done.

What affects the price

  • Remote help or a visit, and travel for a visit
  • The number of devices and people
  • Parts and software licences, which are extra
  • Whether data has to be recovered, and from what

How long it usually takes

  • A remote fix or setup: often the same day.
  • A home or office network: usually a single visit.

What to ask before you choose

  • Will you assign the copyright in what you make to me in writing, or give me a written licence — and for which uses?
  • What will you hand over at the end: source files, code, logins and accounts, in my own name?
  • Will you keep what I share with you confidential, and agree that in writing?
  • Will every admin account and password be handed back to me, in my name?
  • Will you give me a note of what you changed, installed or backed up?
