The app, and what it is actually for
Everything on this marketplace happens in a browser: posting a job, making an offer, accepting one, writing to each other. One thing does not, and it is the one thing a browser cannot honestly do — saying that work was being done, at a time, in a place.
What is done in the app
Five things, and they are all the same thing seen from different sides: a record of work actually happening.
Starting and pausing the work
When a business marks a job started, that is a claim about a moment. The app makes it from a phone whose hardware vouched for its key, so the claim carries the device that made it.
Handing over finished work
The other end of the same claim. What it is worth to a customer in a disagreement is that it could not have been entered from anywhere by anyone.
Opening and closing a shift
A shift is the boundary of what may be recorded about a worker. It is opened by the person standing in it, on the device that will do the recording, and nothing is recorded before it opens or after it closes.
Photographs of the work
Taken with the camera, never picked from a gallery, and stamped with the time and a position rounded to about a hundred metres. A photograph chosen from a folder proves nothing about where anybody was.
The same for a company’s employees
If you run a business with people working for you, their phone is asked for when their shift opens and while the work is recorded — and for nothing else. The roster, the hours and the invoices are run from a browser at a desk.
What needs no app at all
Deliberately most of it. A customer at work and a tradesperson in a van should be able to agree a job without either of them installing anything.

Why the line falls there
A phone can prove which device it is. Nothing can prove who is typing
The application asks the phone’s secure hardware to make a key and vouch for it, and the platform checks that with Google or Apple. That answers one question well — which device sent this — and it is the only question a claim about a place depends on. It says nothing about who is holding it, which is why we do not pretend it protects a conversation.
A coordinate from anywhere is decoration
Any machine can send any position. A position from a device that vouched for itself is evidence, and the difference is the whole reason this part of the product is not in a browser.
It records less, not more
The app has no background location permission at all. While a shift is open a notice sits in the notification tray saying so, positions are rounded before they are stored, and the moment the shift ends the recording stops. Outside a shift there is no lawful basis to record a worker, and there is no code path that does.
A lost phone must never strand a job
Cancelling and closing are done in a browser on purpose. A gate that will not let somebody end a job because their phone is broken is worse than no gate at all.

Your phone will warn you, and it is right to
Android warns before installing anything that did not come from a shop, because most things that arrive that way should be refused. Allow it only for the browser you downloaded this with, install, and turn the permission off again.
Google Play and the App Store
Not yet on either. Both need a registered company behind the developer account, and that is being set up rather than skipped. When the listings exist this page will point at them, and the app will update itself from there instead.
