Gutter cleaning: what the job involves
Clearing leaves, moss and silt from gutters and the tops of downpipes, flushing the downpipes and checking that water runs away freely. Blocked gutters are the most common cause of damp patches on Irish walls and of water pouring over the front door.
How long it takes: One to three hours for a typical house; heavy moss, a large or three-storey house, or blocked downpipes add time.

Not enough comparable jobs yet to publish a range here. Talqero shows a price range only once at least five comparable jobs, agreed prices or offers exist — a range from fewer would describe a handful of jobs, not the market. Post your job and compare the offers you get.
What affects the price
- Height of the house and access around it
- Length of guttering and number of downpipes
- Blocked downpipes or gullies at the bottom
- Repairs needed to joints, brackets or sagging runs
- Conservatories or extensions that make the gutters harder to reach
Rules and grants for gutter cleaning
The rules in Ireland
A cleaner who takes rubbish or builders’ waste away for you must hold a waste collection permit.
- Anybody who takes your waste away must hold a waste collection permit. Handing waste to an unpermitted collector is an offence for the householder, with a fine of up to €5,000 — ask for the permit number, which collectors must show on vehicles and receipts.
