Computer and phone lessons: what the job involves
Patient one-to-one help learning to use a computer, tablet or smartphone: email, video calls, online banking and government services, photos, and spotting scams. Lessons can be at home or by video call, at the learner’s own pace.
How long it takes: A lesson usually lasts an hour or so; most learners book a series of weekly lessons, and more for a first device.

What affects the price

- At home or by video call, and travel
- One learner or a small group
- Whether set-up of the device is needed first
What to ask before you choose
- Will you assign the copyright in what you make to me in writing, or give me a written licence — and for which uses?
- What will you hand over at the end: source files, code, logins and accounts, in my own name?
- Will you keep what I share with you confidential, and agree that in writing?
- Will every admin account and password be handed back to me, in my name?
- Will you give me a note of what you changed, installed or backed up?

What to put in your task

- Whether you would like help remotely or at your home or office
- For a business: how many people and devices
