Wi-Fi and networking: what the job involves

Getting good Wi-Fi into every room and a reliable network for a home or small office: router set-up, mesh systems, access points, network cabling, and connecting printers, TVs and smart devices securely.

How long it takes: A mesh set-up in a typical house usually takes a couple of hours; cabling to several rooms or an outbuilding can take a day or more.

What jobs on Talqero came to

Not enough comparable jobs yet to publish a range here. Talqero shows a price range only once at least five comparable jobs, agreed prices or offers exist — a range from fewer would describe a handful of jobs, not the market. Post your job and compare the offers you get.

What affects the price

Size and construction of the building: thick stone walls, extensions and foil-backed insulation block Wi-Fi
Wireless mesh only, or cabled access points
Number of devices to connect and configure
Outbuildings, garden offices or a separate floor for a business
Who supplies the equipment

What to ask before you choose

Will you assign the copyright in what you make to me in writing, or give me a written licence — and for which uses?
What will you hand over at the end: source files, code, logins and accounts, in my own name?
Will you keep what I share with you confidential, and agree that in writing?
Will every admin account and password be handed back to me, in my name?
Will you give me a note of what you changed, installed or backed up?
