House clearance: what the job involves
Emptying a whole house, apartment, attic, shed or garage — often after a bereavement, before a sale, or at the end of a tenancy — with items sorted for keeping, donation, recycling and disposal. Done well, it is careful work: papers and valuables are set aside, and waste goes only to authorised outlets.
How long it takes: A day for a typical apartment or small house; two or three days for a full family home with attic, garage and shed, and longer where a lot of sorting is needed.

County Cork: what the figures say
County Cork has 210,918 households and 7,910 active construction businesses (2023) — about 27 homes for every firm, against about 23 across Ireland. The figure covers construction as a whole, not any one trade.
Central Statistics Office, 2023
