Event and wedding photography: what the job involves

Photographing a wedding, party, christening, communion, conference, launch or awards night: candid and posed shots of the people and moments that matter, edited and delivered as an online gallery or files.

How long it takes: Coverage is booked by the hour or the day; editing and delivery usually take from a few days for a corporate event to several weeks for a wedding.

What jobs on Talqero came to

Not enough comparable jobs yet to publish a range here. Talqero shows a price range only once at least five comparable jobs, agreed prices or offers exist — a range from fewer would describe a handful of jobs, not the market. Post your job and compare the offers you get.

What affects the price

Hours of coverage and number of locations
Number of edited images delivered
Second photographer, albums or prints
Weekday or peak-season Saturday
Travel to the venue
Usage: private, or press and marketing

What to ask before you choose

Will you assign the copyright in what you make to me in writing, or give me a written licence — and for which uses?
What will you hand over at the end: source files, code, logins and accounts, in my own name?
Will you keep what I share with you confidential, and agree that in writing?
How many edited images, or how long a video, and in which formats?
For drone work: what is your IAA operator registration number?

What the work usually involves

Product and pack shots for a shop or menu
Weddings, parties, conferences and launches
Property photography for sale or rent
Short promotional videos
Editing raw footage into a finished video
Drone photography by a registered operator

What to put in your task

What is being photographed or filmed, where and when
How the photos or video will be used
How many finished images or how long a video you need
For editing: how much footage there is and in what format
