What floor fitters and tilers in Killybegs cost, and why

What jobs on Talqero came to

Not enough comparable jobs yet to publish a range here. Talqero shows a price range only once at least five comparable jobs, agreed prices or offers exist — a range from fewer would describe a handful of jobs, not the market. Post your job and compare the offers you get.

What affects the price

  • Area, and the number of doorways and cuts
  • Subfloor preparation: levelling, moisture, removing the old floor
  • Material and format: large or very small tiles, herringbone layouts
  • Underfloor heating compatibility
  • VAT: building work on a home is charged at the reduced rate of 13.5% by a VAT-registered business — unless the materials come to more than two-thirds of the price, when Revenue’s two-thirds rule applies the goods rate to the whole job. Ask whether a quote includes VAT.

How long it usually takes

  • Laminate or carpet in a room: a few hours to a day.
  • A bathroom tiled: two to five days.
  • Screed: laid in a day; drying takes weeks before a floor goes down.

What to ask before you choose

  • What preparation is included, and what if the subfloor needs levelling?
  • How will you waterproof the wet areas?
  • Who removes the old floor and the waste?
  • Is VAT included?

Questions about hiring a floor fitter

Who removes the old floor?

Ask. Some fitters include lifting and disposal, some do not — say what you expect in your task.

Do I need a screed before tiling?

Only if the subfloor is uneven. A fitter can tell from photos or a quick visit; ask in the conversation.

Is there a fee to read offers?

No. Reading and comparing offers is free.
